| Which 'diet' would be best for me I wonder??? |

| I hesitate greatly and balk at the term 'diet'. To me that means eat like this and excersise like this for a while......FOR A WHILE. Fitness and eating is a LIFESTYLE decision. Enough ranting. I would love to try the fat flush 'diet'. My question is as big as I am (6'2" 275) can I possibly live on 1500 calories a day? My muscle would starve wouldn't it? Is there another caloric count I should/could use instead? TIA |

| Hey Mark, you know what I'm gonna say already! Just steer clear of anything that promises fast results - those plans are always going to unsustainable in the long term. It's got to be a lifestyle change, not a temporary measure! |

Also, I forgot to mention, you can use the calorie acounter and activity tracker on here to figure out if you currently have a caloric surplus or deficit.
On the Activity Counter page in your account, simply enter in your stats such as height, weight, and age, and it'll calculate your daily RMR. Then record your daily activities to see how much calories you burn on an average day.
Next track your diet nutrition intake for a week or two - track everything you eat. This will give you an idea of how much calories you currently consume. You can do this on the Calorie Counter page in your account.
Finally, on the calorie counter and activity tracker pages, at the bottom is a table displaying a summary of your "Calories Burned" VS. "Calories Consumed" on a daily basis, and gives a weekly summary.
With this, you can get a real good idea of how your current nutrition is vs. your current activity levels. |

| I don't like the term diet either. But it's because it's misused. The actual meaning of diet is what you're eating, no matter what it is you're eat. Whatever that may be good or bad, is your diet. Good luck! |

See this guide: http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/bodybuilding-supplements-guides/diet-and-nutrition-guide-1.htm
It has some good basics on figuring out your caloric needs. |
