They decided to promote health and wellness at my workplace with a "Biggest Losers" challenge. so here I am. I can't say I have always had a problem with my weight. There for a short time during my teens I could eat anything I wanted and stay a pretty svelte 115 pounds. Other than that, I have had a weight issue.
One of the biggest hurdles I have found in weight loss and nutrition is the sheer cost of the lean meats, fish and veggies. And the cost isn't getting any better.
I do enjoy eating the meals on my diet, however. I tend to get to eat more in quantity while I am dieting than when I am not dieting. I feel better about myself when I start to shed the pounds.
This is my third day on my diet. I have willpower, and though the cash prize would be nice from work, it isn't really why I am doing this. I am doing this to also feel better about myself, and it helps to know that so many people at work are also going through the same issues I am. Now, my willpower will be tested a bit harder... my husband and step children won't stop bringing snacks into the house!
I can do this. I just need to remind myself of it. |

| A company sponsored "Biggest Loser" contest is how I got started back on the right track almost two years ago and I think they are a great source of motivation, it helped me to lose over 30lbs and once I got that weight off I have remained determined to keep it off. As far as cost, I find that the Bumble Bee Tuna and Valley Fresh Chicken in the individual serve cans are economical and have great nutritional value (you will have to throw in some seasonings though as they are kind of bland). Best of luck to you and like Johnno said, there is a great community here that is always willing to help in any way we can. |

Its great to see you saying that you have willpower because thats the biggest thing that stops people achieving theyre goal.
Have you ever though about buying bulk, I go to Asda and get tuna and its a fiver for 2 packs of 4 tins, and the chicken I get from the market is £2 for a full chicken, if you shop around I'm sure you'll be able to find quality foods at a lower cost.
Keep up the hard work and if you ever need any advice there are a load of fab people on this site that will help
